College Park mayor who was arrested on horrific child porn charges says Pete Buttigieg was his mentor

U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was already having a terrible, no-good month in the optics department, and now it looks as though March isn't starting out very well for him either.

According to Fox News, College Park, Maryland, Mayor Patrick Wojahn resigned last week after he was arrested "on 40 counts of possession of child pornography and 16 counts of distributing child pornography."

Wojahn had previously claimed that his mentor was none other than Pete Buttigieg, who before entering the Biden Administration, served as the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, where he reportedly did a really terrible job.

"While this investigation does not involve any official city business of any kind, it is in the best interests of our community that I step aside," Wojahn's resignation letter read.

"Nothing to see here but Pete Buttigieg and his disgusting pedofile mentee mayor Patrick Wojahn. Thank you National Center for Missing & Exploited Children for taking this pedofile down! @MissingKids are heroes!" one Twitter user wrote, attaching an image that shows Buttigieg and Wojhan hanging out.

Fox News noted that Wojhan is no stranger to the White House, having visited there many times in recent years.

According to White House visitor logs, Wojahn visited the White House once in 2021 on June 25. He would then make two more visits in 2022 on June 15 and Sept. 13. According to Wojahn’s Instagram and the White House website, Wojahn was in attendance at an event "Commemorating LGBTQ+ Pride Month."

Given the alleged pedophile's connection to Buttigieg, Fox News sought comment from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

"The Secretary did not know the former Mayor well, but did meet him a number of times through participation in U.S. Conference of Mayors programming, conferences and political events," a U.S. DOT spokesperson said.

The former mayor's Instagram profile reportedly has several photos showing him posing for a picture with or hanging out with Buttigieg, seemingly contradicting the Transporation Department's bland response.

"Openly gay Maryland mayor Patrick Wojahn was arrested on 56 counts of child pornography. He maintained a strong friendship with former Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and was even a regular guest at the White House due to his relationship with the Biden Transportation Secretary," Ian Miles Chong tweeted.

Fox News added:

In addition to his White House visits, he has also posted pictures with several Democratic lawmakers on social media, including then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California, Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, former DNC chair Tom Perez and Buttigieg, among others.

It'll be interesting to watch how fast and far Buttigieg back peddles when pressed on how close he was with the disgraced mayor.
