Tucker Carlson eviscerates once-conservative Drudge Report

Matt Drudge’s “Drudge Report” was once the most influential voices in the largely leftist-dominated US media machine.

Fox Host Tucker Carlson – who is now America’s go-to source for unbiased news — just effectively ended the one-time conservative media powerhouse in his Friday monologue.

“For decades, Matt Drudge was one of the most influential figures in conservative news journalism,” said Carlson just before interviewing Drudge’s biographer. ”

“His self-titled Drudge Report broke news and set priorities in digital media,” Carlson continued. “Republican presidential candidates made wooing the famously secretive Drudge a high priority, and for several of them, including Donald Trump, it paid off big.”

Political commentator and media kingpin Matt Drudge launched the Drudge Report in 1995. The Report aggregates news from around the web, and originally had a conservative bent. Since President Trump took office, the site has dramatically changed.

Carlson pointed out that the Drudge Report has recently taken a hard-left turn, becoming so “woke” and Anti-Trump that “at times, his site is indistinguishable from the Daily Beast or any other woke propaganda outlet posing as a news company.”

Though the Drudge Report was firmly in Trump’s corner during the 2016 election cycle, the top headlines on the site now regularly push blatantly anti-Trump puff pieces instead of real news.

Trump called out Drudge in April over the shocking flip-flop, remarking on Twitter that “I gave up on Drudge (a really nice guy) long ago, as have many others. People are dropping off like flies.”

Conservative political commentator and former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino launched an alternative to the Drudge Report in December 2019 to the applause of many notable conservative figures.
