Cancelled NASA mission represents big defeat for Vice President Kamala Harris who chair's the National Space Council

Vice President Kamala Harris has been given several opportunities to show she has a modicum of competency. Still, she has yet to convince anyone.

Artemis, the NASA mission that was supposed to send a black person and woman to the moon, was scrubbed Monday due to a mechanical issue, Breitbart reported. What was supposed to be a triumph for Harris as the chair of the National Space Council has become another miss.

"While we hoped to see the launch of Artemis I today, the attempt provided valuable data as we test the most powerful rocket in history," Harris tweeted Monday after the failed launch. "Our commitment to the Artemis Program remains firm, and we will return to the moon," she added.

Harris's position as the chair was already a point of ridicule for the beleaguered vice president. "There have occasionally been snickers about the fact that the VP chairs the administration's National Space Council," the Politico Playbook said of her role.

Perhaps the historic nature of the launch was meant to provide a much-needed public relations boost for Harris, who has struggled to be successful at anything she's had her fingerprints on. Her first high-profile assignment was to fix the issues at the border brought on by an onslaught of illegal immigration.

Harris dropped the ball by attempting to lie to NBC's Lester Holt after he called her out for not visiting the border. "And I haven't been to Europe," Harris told him with a cackle.

"And I mean, I don't understand the point that you're making. I'm not discounting the importance of the border," she said.

Harris has had many gaffes, including her ridiculous repetition of the phrase "the significance of the passage of time" during a speech. She is so painfully unpopular that the Democratic National Committee had to reschedule a fundraiser where she was a speaker due to a lack of ticket sales.

The vice president can't figure out how to be good at anything. Unfortunately, she can't even pull out a win when rocket scientists are on the job.
