Breitbart editor makes case for Biden's impeachment over $3 million China payment to family

Some, including Breitbart's Joel Pollak, believe recent revelations of a Chinese Communist Party-linked company's payments to various members of President Joe Biden's family could amount to a case of bribery.

That, Pollak wrote in an opinion piece this week, would be a violation of the Constitution and a potential pathway for the elderly president to face his first impeachment hearing.

Robert Walker, a person connected to the Biden family's various business ventures, received a payment in 2017 of $3 million from China’s State Energy HK Limited, which is linked to the CCP-connected CEFC China Energy company.

According to House Oversight Committee investigation, the funds from the Chinese company were distributed "to members of Biden’s family: his surviving son, Hunter; his brother, James; his daughter-in-law, Hallie; and an unknown 'Biden.'"

Pollak continued:

State Energy HK Limited was linked to CEFC China Energy, whose chairman, Ye Jianming, did business with Hunter Biden. CEFC was also involved in an abandoned joint venture with the Biden family in which someone referred to as the “big guy,” and presumed to be then-former Vice President Biden, was to have a 10% stake.

It was also noted that there is no record as to what the staggeringly large payment was for.

Hunter Biden's attorney said this week that the money came as the result of a "legitimate" private business deal.

"As part of that joint venture, Hunter received his portion of good faith seed funds which he shared with his uncle, James Biden, and Hallie Biden, with whom he was involved with at the time, and sharing expenses," Hunter Biden's attorney said.

No further details have been provided as to what, exactly, the joint venture consisted of, who exactly was involved, and for what purposes.

"The criminal statute of bribery describes giving 'anything of value' to an official to 'influence' him or her in performing any “'official act.' The fact that the 'thing of value' might have flowed to Biden’s friends and family, rather than to Biden himself, would not absolve him — and there is evidence that the senior Biden benefited from his family’s gains," Pollak wrote.

He added: "China’s desire to 'influence' is clear; it is less clear what 'act”' Biden did, or did not do."

He went on to point out how Democrats essentially changed the rules of the impeachment process. Biden's foreign policy decisions right now, as president, could have been influenced by past foreign business deals with America's adversaries, meaning impeachment is not out of the realm of possiblity.

Comedian Tim Young tweeted, "Congress just revealed actual evidence of the Biden family's money laundering... if this were Trump, there would already be impeachment documents drawn up."

And he's dead on the money -- this would have been a slam-dunk impeachment process for Trump or any Republican president with a similar past. Democrats, however, seem to get a perpetual pass on most of their shady, if not completely illegal, dealings.
