Most people understand that the press is friendly to Democratic administrations. However, one shocking admission proves that the symbiotic relationship is more than just implied.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi admonished the press for not “selling” President Joe Biden’s agenda to the American people, Breitbart reported. She made this admission during her weekly press briefing Tuesday.
Responding to CBS News poll showing most Americans don’t know specifics of Democrats’ spending bill, Pelosi tells @NikolenDC “it is hard to break through when you have such a comprehensive package”

CBS News reporter Nikole Killion asked Pelosi whether Democrats needed to better communicate Biden’s plans to the American people. She referenced a recent CBS News poll that found just 10% of Americans reported knowing details of the Build Back Better plan while a vast majority admitted to knowing virtually nothing.
“Well, I think you all could do a better job of selling it, to be very frank with you,” Pelosi shot back at the reporter, seemingly blaming the media for not doing the for her. “Every time I come here, I go through the list … It is hard to break through when you have such a comprehensive package,” she said.
Pelosi said it includes a “continuation of the Biden tax credit” that was part of the bloated COVID-19 rescue plan. “Do people know where it springs from? No, but it is a vast bill it has a lot in it and we have to continue to make sure the public does,” she added.
But whether they know it or not, they overwhelmingly support it,” Pelosi said, adding that more women than men are in favor of it. “Men like the infrastructure one.”
There are many things in the bill that are unpopular and provisions that some say could spur inflation. “Housing, food, green energy, child care, medical care, family leave, guaranteed basic income, free college, free health care, even for illegal immigrants,” Fox News host Sean Hannity explained last week. “That’s what the $3.5 trillion ‘Build Back Better,’ what they call human infrastructure is all about.”
Obviously, it’s not the job of the media to sell any legislation coming out of Washington, D.C. in the first place. However, Pelosi should be careful what she wishes for if more Americans become aware of what they’re trying to pass — they might decide to vote against Democrats in the midterm elections next year.
