The sudden death of Brazilian reality TV star Luana Andrade has shocked many, as most of her followers who were unaware of any health problems the star suffered. 

According to a report by Breitbart News, Andrade died "suddenly" at age 29 due to a massive pulmonary embolism the day after undergoing a cosmetic procedure.

Andrade's boyfriend, Joao Hadad, was the other half of the Brazilian duo, both of whom starred on the reality TV show Power Couple in Brazil.

The influencer reportedly went into cardiac arrest while undergoing a procedure to have the body fat removed from her knee, a cosmetic procedure that uses a type of liposuction to remove unwanted fat.

Luana was undergoing surgery at the Sao Luiz Hospital and that her doctor reported the surgery being interrupted by signs of distress.

"Patient Luana Andrade was admitted, accompanied by her family, on Monday afternoon to the unit for a liposuction procedure, carried out by a private surgeon and anesthetist hired by the family," the hospital said in a statement, according to a translation, as reported by Globo 1.

"After approximately two and a half hours of surgery, the patient presented with an abrupt respiratory event and went into cardiac arrest, being immediately resuscitated by the team.

“The surgery was interrupted and the patient underwent tests that revealed massive thrombosis," the doctor said in his statement. "She was transferred to the ICU where she underwent medication and hemodynamic treatment.”

As for Hadad, he took to Instagram to show his distress, saying "I am torn apart and living my biggest nightmare. A part of me left,” her boyfriend of two years asserted. 

“We built a beautiful story and lived our dreams intensely,” he added. “In addition to being a girlfriend, you are and will always be a partner beyond life, my love. …

"You are my light, princess. I ask that you continue to watch over me and all of us from above. I will always love you, from now until eternity!”

Andrade's most notable professional achievement was her participation in the sixth season of the Brazilian reality television show Power Couple, which she did alongside Hadad, who she started dating in 2021.

Earlier on in this year, she made the announcement that she will be joining the cast of Domingo Legal in Brazil as a stage assistant.

Andrade, who has more than 563,000 followers on Instagram, had established her own clothing line under the name Lukand.

She posted a year-in-review video five days before she passed away, writing, "It's not even over yet, and so much gratitude for this year 2023."
