Bill Barr claims Trump was detached from reality following election loss

Former Attorney General Bill Barr said on Tuesday that former President Donald Trump appeared to be detached from reality following his 2020 election loss to Joe Biden.

Barr shared the comments during a Fox News’ “Special Report” interview.

“When I went in to actually give him my letter of resignation, he started talking about he won the election, the machines are rigged, and he was going to be there another term, and he was very confident of that,” Barr said.

“And I just felt that this showed a detachment from reality that was stunning to me. He was willing to accept anything no matter how fanciful as long as it didn’t make him a loser in the election,” he added.

The strong words show the shift the network and others have taken since November 2020.

After strong sentiment that Trump had lost through some sort of cheating following the election, Barr and others now emphasize that the election was lost and the focus must be on future elections to help all Americans.
