Biden's energy secretary cheers California's gas-powered vehicle ban by 2035

In the coming years, one won't have the option to purchase gas vehicles in California, as Gov. Gavin Newsom and the state assembly will ensure that the only options available to the public are electric vehicles that most Americans can't realistically afford.

According to Breitbart, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm was reportedly extremely excited about California's new mandates. During an interview on Friday she suggested that such a ban on gas-powered vehicles "could" serve as a national model.

She was forced to admit that even by 2035, in order for such a plan to be feasible, in her mind, prices would have to come down on EV's.

"Yeah, I do. I think California really is leaning in. And of course, the federal government has a goal of — the president has announced — by 2030 that half of the vehicles in the U.S., the new ones sold would be electric," Granholm said during the interview.

"Do you think what California's doing could or should be a national model?" she was asked by the interviewer.

Granholm replied: "Could be, could be. I know every state is different, and you always have to respect what the states are doing, but I do think that once people — I mean, California has gotten more used to electric vehicles, and we have to bring down the price of electric vehicles so that everybody can access them."

She continued: "And this is why it's great that there's a $4,000 tax credit, for example, on used electric vehicles that has just been adopted through the Inflation Reduction Act. So, once they get more acceptable, I think those numbers don't sound as daunting."

Meanwhile, California's lofty goals of EV's for everyone have a long way to go, as it was less than 48 hours after the plan was announced that the state restricted the use of charging electric vehicles due to the state's inability to manage its electric grid.

You can't make this stuff up.
