President Joe Biden’s approval rating has continued to decline, now trending downward in 45 of the nation’s 50 states, according to a CIVIQS poll.
The ongoing poll simply asks, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way Joe Biden is handling his job as president?”
The most recent overall total is 37 percent approve, while 54 percent disapprove. Nine percent neither approve or disapprove.
The disapproval is strikingly higher among males, with 31 percent approval and 62 percent disapproval. For females, the totals are 42 percent approval and 47 percent disapproval.
Democrats unsurprisingly rate Biden higher, with a 76 percent approval rating. Just two percent of Republicans rate Biden with a positive approval.
Hispanic Americans rate Biden the highest, at 65 percent, with Black Americans approving of Biden at 49 percent. The strong approval rating among more than two-thirds of Hispanics is likely due to his immigration-friendly policies.
The only five states with an approval rating that has not yet declined are California, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts and Vermont. Vermont is Biden’s home state.
The poll shows Biden ranking unfavorably in nearly every state and among nearly every ethnic group, a concern for Democrats leading into the 2022 midterms and looking ahead at the 2024 presidential election.
