President Joe Biden’s approval rating dropped to its lowest point yet, according to the latest CBS News/YouGov poll results released on Sunday.
“Many do say the job market is good and that jobs have increased over the last year – but it’s still inflation driving views, and even those who say the job market is ok still don’t rate the economy well. Americans are basing this on personal experience: two-thirds say higher prices have been difficult or even a hardship, and now forcing many to make cutbacks,” CBS News noted.
Just 42% of American adults viewed Biden’s job performance favorably, a far cry from his 62% in March 2021.

Now a whopping 58% disapprove of Biden’s work as president. The number included 19% who somewhat disapprove and 39% who strongly disapprove.
NEW: @POTUS Biden’s overall job approval is 42%, down one point from last month; it’s been hovering in the low 40s for months now, and that tick down does mark its lowest point yet. He is underwater on his handling of crime, immigration, economy and inflation. pic.twitter.com/1XaGwZDih1

The timing of the poll is important as well. It’s just seven months until the November midterms, with many of the nation’s primaries taking place in April and May.
The news also comes after new criticisms of Hunter Biden’s laptop scandal, as media begin to share more information from the years-long issue.
