President Joe Biden skipped the 2021 Rolling to Remember motorcycle rally in Washington, D.C., on Memorial Day, breaking with the tradition of past presidents.
Both former President Barack Obama and former President Donald Trump have met with participants from the long-time motorcycle event to honor America’s fallen soldiers. Organizers claim they received no response from Biden.

“The biggest disappointment in the Pentagon’s denial was that AMVETS was ignored for months as its professional staff in Washington requested numerous times an opportunity to hear the Defense Department’s concerns and present a [coronavirus] safety plan,” said Jan Brown, the national commander of AMVETS, according to the Breitbart report.
Organizers told The Washington Post there was not “a formal ceremony or gathering on the Mall this year because of the coronavirus pandemic. Organizers say more than 50,000 motorcycles are expected for the event.”
Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) accused the Biden administration of blocking the annual Rolling to Remember motorcycle rally in April. The event was blocked from using a Pentagon parking lot for staging the event.
“We are blessed beyond words to be citizens of the greatest country on Earth, and only live free thanks to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice,” Mast said in a statement.
“But the Biden Administration seems intent on restricting that freedom, and now, even restricting Memorial Day ceremonies. Preventing a tradition like Rolling to Remember flies in the face of the freedoms that so many have died to protect,” Mast added.
Biden spent the Memorial Day weekend in Delaware, returning to Washington on Monday for ceremonial events.
