President Joe Biden has walked back on his previous comment about Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying he did not intend to call for regime change.
Biden’s remarks followed a speech in Europe on Saturday during which he said Putin “cannot remain in power.”

“Mr. President, do you want Putin removed? Mr. President, were you calling for regime change?” a reporter asked.
“No,” Biden replied before leaving.
Biden’s comment drew much attention on Saturday as it sounded like he was calling for Putin to be removed from office.
The White House quickly spoke out to clarify he only meant Russia should not seek to lead the nation beyond its borders.
The White House now says Biden was not calling for a regime change in Moscow.
