Former Vice President Joe Biden made some interesting headlines last week when he was suddenly rushed to the hospital for treatment after he allegedly twisted his ankle while playing with one of his large German Shepards.
According to Breitbart, while the story originally sounded somewhat typical of a roughhousing-with-the-dog scenario, the former vice president told CNN’s Jake Tapper the extended version that included a bizarre shower moment and an attempt to grab his dog’s tail, which prompted the fall that would end up leaving him with hairline fractures on his foot.
“What happened was I got out of the shower. I got a dog. And anybody who’s been around my house knows, dropped — the little pup dropped the ball in front of me, and for me to grab the ball. And I’m walking through this little alleyway to get to the bedroom,” Biden said when asked by Tapper about the incident.
“And I grabbed the ball like this, and he ran, and I was joking, running after him to grab his tail. And what happened was that he slid on a throw rug, and I tripped on the rug he slid on. That’s what happened,” Biden added.
Biden’s detailed version of the story was much more involved than what was previously reported, as his campaign originally said that he simply fell and “twisted his ankle” while playing with his dog.
Many social media users asked questions like “why was he running after his dog right as he got out of the shower?” and tried to imagine bizarre scenes where a freshly-showered Biden was chasing his dog through the house and slipping on a rug while attempting to grab its tail.
Though the world may never know what really led up to Biden’s injury, unfortunately for the 78-year-old media-declared president-elect, doctors ordered him to wear a specialized walking boot in order for the injuries to heal.
According to Fox News, the boot isn’t expected to have much of an impact on Biden’s regular schedule, though it was noted that he wasn’t wearing the boot while talking to Tapper. Biden said he doesn’t always wear it as he described it as “kind of clumsy.”
Though at the moment President Donald Trump probably isn’t Biden’s biggest fan, the president tweeted a “Get well soon!” message to the former vice president shortly after the news of his injuries.
