California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) is one of the high-profile Dems that could mount a 2024 White House run should President Joe Biden, who grows more confused by the day, not seek a second term. Or, some say Newsom might run even if Biden runs.

According to the Washington Examiner, Biden has reportedly upset Newsom and even left him "seething" after the current president made remarks concerning pro-union labor legislation that Newsom had originally vetoed. 

"Newsom has been essentially needling the Democratic establishment about their messaging and going on offense with all the stuff he's done with [Florida Gov. Ron] DeSantis," said Democratic consultant Steve Maviglio, according to Politico.

He added: "And here was a good chance for Biden to poke him back."

The president insisted that California's Agricultural Labor Relations Voting Choice Act, a nearly identical bill to one that Newsom vetoed last year, "will give California's agricultural workers greater opportunity to organize and collectively bargain for better wages, benefits, and working conditions."

"Farmworkers worked tirelessly and at great personal risk to keep food on America's tables during the pandemic. In the state with the largest population of farmworkers, the least we owe them is an easier path to make a free and fair choice to organize a union. I am grateful to California's elected officials and union leaders for leading the way," President Biden's statement on the bill said.

Newsom hasn't yet indicated whether or not he'll support the new version of the bill. He claimed the last bill like it contained "various inconsistencies and procedural issues."

The inner-party scrapping is the last thing Democrats need at this point in time, though it's awfully fun to watch.
