President Biden has only been in office for less than a week, but he’s made some major changes to the White House in that very short time.
Most recently Biden announced he’s replacing Trump’s White House physician, Dr. Sean Conley, with his personal primary care physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, who will continue to keep track of Biden’s health during his time in office.
O’Connor has been Biden’s personal doctor since 2009, and personally signed off on Biden’s bill of health during the 2020 election cycle. Outgoing White House physician Dr. Sean Conely was in the position for two years and oversaw President Trump’s bout with COVID-19.
The position of White House physician has never been so important as in the last several years due to the advanced age of former President Trump and now the 78-year-old Biden.
Biden is the oldest president to be sworn into office, and speculation about his cognitive abilities has swirled for years.
Despite frequent and alarming gaffes, short campaigning days with one of the least strenuous event schedules of any presidential campaign ever, Biden’s team successfully brushed off concerns about Biden’s health to install him in the White House.
O’Connor prepared a report about Joe Biden’s health during the 2020 election cycle which declared Biden “healthy” and “vigorous” despite Biden’s propensity for “calling a lid” at shockingly frequent intervals during even the most intense times ahead of the November election.
O’Connor’s glowing three-page review of Biden’s health status was released in December of 2019, giving an overview of Biden’s past health incidents and a physical examination — but curiously did not include any mention of Biden’s mental health or cognitive abilities.
At the height of the controversy over Biden’s health in the summer of 2020, the then-Democrat nominee insisted that his cognitive health is is “constantly” being “tested,” but Biden’s team refused to confirm or deny if he had undergone any kind of clinical assessments.
Ultimately, neither Biden nor O’Connor has been required to disclose any information about Biden’s cognitive health, and with Conley’s removal, don’t expect answers anytime soon.
