President Joe Biden appeared defiant when asked to clarify his comment about chemical weapons during his trip to Europe on Monday.
Biden’s reply came to a question about what kind of response the U.S. would have if Russia used chemical weapons in Ukraine.

“I’m not gonna tell you. Why would I tell you?” he replied. “You gotta be silly.”
“The world wants to know a lot of things,” Biden later added. “I’m not telling them what the response will be… then Russia knows the response.”
The president was also defiant about his comments on Russia’s president remaining in power.

The look with reporters was an odd one, as Biden refused to stand down on issues he noted while going off script, leaving room for the White House to clean up though he refuses to do so himself.
