Joe Biden, once again, fails to find his way when walking off stage

President Joe Biden, once again, had trouble figuring out how to exit the stage on Friday.

You can see the incident for yourself here. It took place at a town hall event that was held for U.S. veterans on Dec. 16.

The 9-second video clip from the GOP War Room picks up just after Biden finishes making his remarks before the audience. Biden waves to the crowd and then confusedly looks around to try to figure out how to exit the stage.

Someone off-camera, apparently, directs Biden in the correct direction. Biden points in that direction, and he proceeds to walk in that direction in order to exit the stage.

As Fox News reports, "Biden turned 80 in November and often struggles with stage direction after he speaks."

Another example of this tendency took place at the recent Toys for Tots event, which was sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.

After finishing his remarks, Biden, once again, looked confused, not knowing which way to exit the stage. On this occasion, a young girl walked up to Biden, took him by the hand, and led him off the stage.

Not knowing how to exit the stage, though, was not even the worse thing to happen to Biden at Friday's town hall event. The president has also received widespread criticism for two specific remarks that he made.

Here's one of the remarks:

I may be Irish, but I’m not stupid. I married Dominic Giacoppa’s daughter. So, you know, I got a little Italian in me now, you know?

Many criticized Biden for this remark on the grounds that it is "anti-Irish stereotyping." But, others criticized Biden because it is simply not true.

CNN reports::

[Jill] Biden’s maiden name is Jacobs, but before her great-grandfather emigrated to America – arriving at Ellis Island – it was Giacoppa. Guytano Giacoppa “Americanized” the family surname, as thousands of immigrants did, upon starting a new life in the United States.

Biden was also criticized for a story that he told, during the town hall, claiming that when he was vice president, at his father's request, he helped to get a Purple Heart for his Uncle Frank.

It turns out that this isn't true either. The New York Post reports:

Biden’s father, Joseph R. Biden Sr., died in September 2002 — more than six years before his son was elected vice president. Frank Biden, Joe Sr.’s brother, died in 1999 . . . Frank Biden’s tombstone does not identify him as a Purple Heart honoree, nor does his obituary. A partial registry of known Purple Heart recipients also doesn’t note anyone by that name receiving the award, though that database is not comprehensive.

Suffice it to say that it was a pretty bad Friday for Biden.
