President Joe Biden appears to have abandoned his Build Back Better agenda as his new budget proposal bypasses the legislation and seeks to includes some aspects in his new financial plan.

Instead of building back better,  Biden’s new focus includes a new emphasis on taxing billionaires, though the proposal includes more than only those with a billion dollars in net worth.

“The proposal includes a minimum 20% tax on the incomes of households worth $100 million or more, similar to a proposal Democrats in Congress began debating late last year that failed to clear the Senate,” ABC News reported.

The shift notes a secondary attempt to include aspects of his failed bill, knowing it won’t be pursued under his previous legislation.

Biden says he wants to help make America better by taxing the wealthy more. Instead, his proposed tax on the wealthy is, in addition to significant inflation, the highest in 40 years.

In addition, his oil and gas policies continue to lead to record-level gas prices, though the U.S. has plenty of supply under its feet.

The budget proposal offers much insight into the future direction of Biden’s term, including no real plan to move his signature legislation forward.
