President Joe Biden turned to heated shouting with a CNN reporter after he was asked how he could consider his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin a success.
Biden said, “I said what will change their behavior is if the rest of the world reacts to them, and they diminishes [sic] their standing in the world. I’m not confident of anything, just stating a fact.”
CNN’s Kaitlan Collins asked, “How does that amount to a constructive meeting as a president?”
“If you don’t understand that, you’re in the wrong business,” Biden snapped before walking away.
The video revealed other attacks on reporters as well. He complained, “You never ask a positive question.”
Biden has revealed anger toward media in the past. However, the recent tirade showed his contrast with former President Trump’s harsh tone toward media is not as strong as often claimed.
Biden may not like the media’s questions, but he has also largely ignored them. Unlike his predecessor, Biden rarely interacts with reporters. When he does, it doesn’t always end well.
