Allegations that Joe Biden is experiencing a measure of cognitive decline appear to be getting to the 78-year-old candidate as he went on the offensive against Donald Trump in an attempt to defend his own health.
Biden challenged rumors that his cognitive and physical health is not up to the grueling job of president of the United States during a CNN interview last week by attempting to cast doubt on Donald Trump’s health.
“When it comes to Donald Trump versus me: Just look at us. Okay? Just look at us,” Biden said. “Who seems to be in shape? Who’s able to move around?”
“This idea of slow Joe — anyway,” Biden fumbled, “Donald Trump, just look at us both, watch us, and determine whether or not you think I’m misleading anyone — not you personally, but the public.”
“I guarantee you I will be totally transparent in terms of my health and all aspects of my health,” Biden concluded.
Biden continues to come under fire for his extremely limited campaign appearances with just weeks to go until election day. The ball is now in Biden’s court to prove that he actually can back his claims of physical and mental stamina.
President Trump tossed a bomb in Biden’s direction on Monday morning by enthusiastically endorsing the idea of a four-hour unscripted sit-down with popular podcast host Joe Rogan and Biden to debate the issues without any audience.
Former MMA star Tim Kennedy tweeted: “On my podcast with @joerogan he offered to moderate a debate between @JoeBiden and @realDonaldTrump It would be four hours with no live audience. Just the two candidates, cameras, and their vision of how to move this country forward. Who wants this? #debates #Election2020″
President Trump replied to the tweet, “I do!” Joe Biden has not acknowledged or responded to the proposal, and many critics have already implied that Biden will avoid the subject because of his history of shaky public appearances.
