The disastrous virtual Democratic National Convention is in its third and final day of featuring a variety of public figures, politicians, and activists stumping for nominee Joe Biden.
One public figure that Democrats chose to speak at the event is former Women’s March organizer Linda Sarsour, a Muslim activist that is notoriously anti-semitic. Though Biden was happy to have her campaign for him during her Tuesday speech, he turned around just hours later to distance himself from her and condemn her anti-Israel platform.
The Trump campaign pointed out in a Tuesday tweet that the Democrat party “welcomes” Sarsour’s “extreme bigotry” after Sarsour appeared as part of the DNC’s “Muslim Delegates and Allies Assembly.”
“Anti-Semite Linda Sarsour, who supports the Israel-hating BDS movement which boycotts Jewish-owned businesses, says the Democrat Party ‘is absolutely our party,'” The Trump War Room tweeted. “Her extreme bigotry is welcomed by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.”
Biden’s team was quick to turn on Sarsour the very same day she gave her speech endorsing Biden. Biden spokesman Andrew Bates told CNN’s Jake Tapper:
Joe Biden has been a strong supporter of Israel and a vehement opponent of anti-Semitism his entire life, and he obviously condemns her views and opposes BDS, as does the Democratic platform. She has no role in the Biden campaign whatsoever.
The Biden campaign has already taken a major hit from Black voters over his decision to add Kamala Harris to the ticket — losing another entire demographic because the Democrat establishment chose to elevate a known anti-Semite is not a good strategy.
