President Joe Biden personally called Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy after calling the reporter a “stupid SOB” on live television earlier on Monday.
Doocy shared the news during an interview on Fox News’ “Hannity” on Monday night.
The reporter said he received the call from Biden on his personal cell phone about an hour after the incident to reportedly “clear the air.”

The Associated Press reported that Biden lashed out at Doocy after the reporter “after the reporter asked him a question about the possible political fallout from inflation.”

The awkward exchange adds to a growing list of gaffes by the president as he enters his second year in office. The latest response may backfire even more, as it shows Biden attacking the media that most closely watch his every move.
