Biden’s words took place on Tuesday as the president visited areas damaged by Hurricane Ida as it traveled from the Gulf of Mexico up to New Jersey and New York were extensive flooding and damage occurred.
The context of the tornado comment noted, ““It’s all across the country, you know, the members of Congress know from their colleagues in Congress that uh, you know, it looks like a tornado, they don’t call ’em that anymore, that hit the crops and wetlands in the middle of the country in Iowa and Nevada and I mean, it’s just across the board. And uh, you know um, as I said, we’re in this together.”
The president also came under attack by some people in New Jersey during his travels over leaving Americans in Afghanistan. New Jerseyans call out Biden: “You leave Americans behind!”

The criticisms were compounded by reports that despite Biden supporters not showing up, many supporters of former President Donald Trump showed at some of the president’s locations.
Biden may have toured the area to offer words of hope, but many will more likely remember his bizarre words about tornadoes.
