President Joe Biden is routinely described as a “devout Catholic.” However, his vendetta against Texas to keep abortion legal proves otherwise.
Biden just lashed out at the Supreme Court during his desperate scramble to punish Texas after it successfully implemented a so-called “heartbeat” bill on abortion, the Daily Wire reported. The state’s law now bans most abortions after the sixth week of pregnancy.
The law went into effect on Sept. 1 and was not granted a stay by the Supreme Court as other bills have been in the past. This means that any detectable fetal heart activity would preclude women from seeking an abortion under Texas law.
The left was apoplectic over the prospect of losing the right to slaughter the unborn. Biden, whose professed Roman Catholic religion strictly forbids the practice and carries a “latae sententiae” (automatic) excommunication, supported the left’s pro-abortion cause.
“The Supreme Court’s ruling overnight is an unprecedented assault on a woman’s constitutional rights under Roe v. Wade, which has been the law of the land for almost fifty years,” the president said in a statement. “While the Chief Justice was clear to stress that the action by the Supreme Court is not a final ruling on the future of Roe [vs. Wade], the impact of last night’s decision will be immediate and requires an immediate response.”
He went on to tout his own bona fides as the “first president in history to create a Gender Policy Council” and called the bill protecting the unborn one of the “assaults on women’s rights” without a hint of irony. Biden promised to send his bureaucratic henchman to “launch a whole-of-government effort to respond to this decision” and would implement “what legal tools we have to insulate women and providers from the impact of Texas’ bizarre scheme of outsourced enforcement to private parties.”
Although the high court wouldn’t rule on the constitutionality of the legislation, it refused to offer a stay on procedural grounds, leaving it open to further litigation. “In particular, this order is not based on any conclusion about the constitutionality of Texas’s law, and in no way limits other procedurally proper challenges to the Texas law, including in Texas state courts,” it stated in the opinion.
The left is firmly committed to keeping abortion legal and won’t tolerate any restrictions on killing babies. It’s bad enough that an entire political party and movement espouse it, but it’s unconscionable that the president who claims to be Catholic would be so singularly focused on punishing a state for protecting the unborn.
