One of President Joe Biden’s highest priorities since taking office is undoing the work the former President Trump did over the last four years to stem the flow of illegal immigrants into our nation.
National Review’s Robert Verbruggen wrote on Wednesday that Biden’s plot regarding the ever-present problem would allow illegal immigrants to stream over the border while eviscerating border enforcement programs — the exact opposite of the “moderate reform” Biden has promised.
Former President Trump’s initial election was due — in large part — to his hard-on-illegal-immigration stance. After years of Democrat-promoted amnesty and a slew of social programs designed to spend American taxpayer dollars to support illegal immigrants, Americans had had enough.
After a short four-year interlude, however, Democrats are gearing up to return to allowing a flood of illegal immigrants into the nation. Verbruggen wrote that Biden’s proposed “moderate immigration reform” is “partly an opening bid, partly a harsh repudiation of Trump’s immigration stance, and completely out of step with any honest intention to unify the nation.”
Biden’s immigration proposal immediately puts a stop to the construction of Trump’s much-maligned border wall and pays lipservice to border security by authorizing the Department of Homeland Security to come up with other ways of controlling the border — without providing any specifics.
“Biden has already promised not to build any more of Trump’s big, beautiful, woefully incomplete wall — even though border fencing is a simple and effective way to keep people from crossing a border without authorization,” Verbruggen wrote. “Instead he wants to try other technologies, asking the Department of Homeland Security to figure out the particulars. … There’s simply too big a risk that it won’t work or won’t even really be tried.”
Biden’s sweeping amnesty plan seeks to fast-track amnesty for multiple categories of illegal aliens, which would dramatically increase the Democrat voter base just in time for the 2024 election.
According to Breitbart’s analysis, Biden’s proposal could potentially authorize “3.3 million illegal aliens … to vote in time for the November 5, 2024 presidential election if all are approved for green cards and citizenship.
Stopping Biden’s flagrantly anti-American immigration plan relies solely on the filibuster remaining intact — fragile protection that Democrats are also working quickly to dismantle.
Ten Republican Senators would be required to cross the aisle and vote in favor of Biden’s plan — highly unlikely due to the nature of the proposal, but if Senate Democrats get their way, they may not need any Republicans to approve their agenda.
