Biden allows Putin to send troops into Ukraine without sanctions

Russia’s addition of more troops in Ukraine will not automatically lead to sanctions, the White House said.

The news was revealed during a White House conference call with reporters held Monday.

“Russian troops moving into Donbas would not itself be a new step,” the official noted during the call, according to Breitbart News.

“Russia has had forces in the Donbas region for the past eight years,” the official added.

Several nations, including the U.S., have instead announced an end to U.S. investments in certain areas of Ukraine after the separatist regions were entered by Russian troops.

“More officials to be blacklisted after Russia rolls into eastern Ukraine and recognizes two separatist regions. EU ambassadors meeting this morning to prepare sanctions list — after US, UK announced similar measures,” FT reported.
