Democrats always appeal to emotion when they’re pushing a policy that’s bad for America. It’s even easier to do when they involve children.
Unaccompanied minors are flooding the border again with President Joe Biden in office, but they won’t do anything to stop it, Breitbart reported. White House Senior Adviser Cedric Richmond said they won’t turn them away, and instead focus on “what are they fleeing from?”
On Tuesday’s MSNBC program “MTP Daily,” host Chuck Todd asked Richmond about whether they would be limiting the number of unaccompanied minors allowed into the U.S. through the southern border. “Well, I’m not sure, Chuck, that that’s the question. The real question is, what are they fleeing from?”
He went on to speculate about the possible disasters they’re facing in the countries they’re fleeing, using the sad fact as justification to further endanger children. “And look, I have a 6-year-old, we assume that it is easy for a parent to make the decision to ship their kid off a thousand or so miles with the hopes that they land in America,” Richmond said. “Because it’s a better place because they know that if they keep them where they are, they will probably not make it or they will be killed or they’ll die or they’ll end up in human trafficking.”
“That’s the real question,” he went on. “And so, we have to put some real emphasis and the weight of the country into all of those things. Because look, if they come and they present themselves at our border, we’re not going to turn an unaccompanied minor around. There’s a procedure to do it and that’s what we’re going to do.”
As admirable as this seems to let the children into the country, it doesn’t address the real and serious problems it creates. With the Biden administration rolling back many of the Trump-era security measures, it’s attracting even more migrants — including the children — further compounding the problems like overcrowded detention facilities, Fox News reported.
Reports have already emerged that resources are already spread thin as the problem only gets worse. As of March 1, there were 321 unaccompanied minors referred to Health and Human Services per day. That number had been increasing steadily, from just 47 in early January to about 203 at the beginning of February.
Illegal immigration is welcomed any time there is a Democrat in office. With the unaccompanied minors, the administration gets to pull at the heartstrings with the sad stories of children leaving their homeland for a better life. The unfortunate reality is that these kids are often used as pawns and end up in danger — and yet the administration will encourage more of them to come on in.
