Biden administration official turns down gas stove ban after recent push

Biden administration Consumer Product Safety Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. said that he is not planning to ban gas stoves despite the recent push to do so.

Trumka made the statement on Wednesday following a backlash to the CPSC discussion to end the use of gas stoves in the U.S.

The latest

“To be clear, CPSC isn’t coming for anyone’s gas stoves,” Trumka wrote on social media in reaction to the backlash sparked by a possible ban, according to Breitbart News.

The view is the opposite of what the Biden official told the Chicago Tribune in a recent report.

“We need to be talking about regulating gas stoves, whether that’s drastically improving emissions or banning gas stoves entirely,” Trumka said.

The previous push

"Trumka and the CPSC have received significant backlash over the idea due to the approximately 40 percent of Americans who use gas stoves in their homes and the bureaucratic effort it would take to apply those changes," another Breitbart report stated.

“Over 40 million American households use gas stoves. This type of power should never have been given to unelected bureaucrats and it is time for it to end,” Rep. Gary Palmer (R-AL) tweeted in response to Trumka and the CPSC’s idea on Monday.

Texas Republican Rep. Ronny Jackson also offered strong words in response to the possibility of gas stoves being prohibited.

"I’ll NEVER give up my gas stove. If the maniacs in the White House come for my stove, they can pry it from my cold dead hands. COME AND TAKE IT!!" he tweeted.

The quick and powerful response from Americans appears to have stopped the ridiculous effort for now, keeping gas stoves safe from the Biden administration.
