In an appalling display of their true contempt for the country they call home, a local Democratic Party organization in Arizona helped promote a left-wing summer event crudely billed as ‘F*** the Fourth,” scheduled to take place at a time when most other Americans prefer to celebrate the nation’s independence, as Fox News reports.
According to the outlet, the event itself was announced and advertised by the Tucson Women’s March as an opportunity for those outraged by the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision overturning Roe v. Wade to express their rage.
In a graphic rendered in patriotic colors that featured the Statue of Liberty, the event’s organizers invited attendees to “mourn with ‘F*** the Fourth,'” and that communication was then conveyed on the Pima County Democratic Party’s (PCDP) Twitter account.
Prospective guests were asked to “[b]ring comfortable shoes, water, lawn chairs, posters, and your anger,” but once the PCDP started receiving backlash over the tweet – including an inquiry from Fox News Digital, the offensive material was deleted.
That deletion, however, was not intended as a denouncement of the event, as the PCDP made clear in a subsequent post, which explained that while the language used in the tweet was a “mistake” and in “poor taste,” those frustrated by the reversal of Roe should still enthusiastically attend.
“Make no mistake… . We support the event which will be on July 4 at 7 p.m. at Reid Park. The event was organized to help woman in our community grieve for the loss of their bodily autonomy, which we consider an elemental right,” the local party declared.
Seemingly belittling those who were rightly disgusted by the event publicity piece, the PCDP continued, “Our posting of the graphic upset some people. We urge you to save your outrage for the women in this state who will die of botched abortions,” hyperbolically adding, “Arizona is not a good place to be a woman right now.”
Republican Karrin Taylor Robson, currently running for governor in the state, was quick to heap scorn on the situation, writing, “This sickens me,” calling the graphic “[t]he modern Democrat Party in a single tweet,” though it was not just voices from the GOP calling out the PCDP, as the New York Post noted.
“What the hell are you thinking @PimaDems?!” blasted Democrat Arizona secretary of state candidate Adrian Fontes, who added, “[h]ow does this help us WIN?” Hopefully, his instincts are right, and this type of crass disrespect for our nation and its traditions yields nothing but defeat at the polls for those who engage in it.
