At least four Americans were killed by Hamas during attacks on Israel over the weekend, according to a U.S. official.
The report comes as over 600 people in Israel have died in the war launched Saturday by the terrorist group from the Gaza Strip.

"A U.S. official told the Associated Press that at least four Americans were killed, and an additional seven are missing or unaccounted for," the Washington Examiner reported.
"The number could change as a full official count is conducted, the official said. Most, if not all, of those reported dead or missing are dual U.S.-Israeli citizens, per the official," it added.

“We continue to monitor the situation closely and remain in touch with our Israeli partners, particularly the local authorities," the official stated.

"The identities of the four dead Americans have yet to be made public," the New York Post reported.
"Secretary of State Antony Blinken revealed earlier Sunday that his office was working to verify the number of Americans killed and missing in Israel after Hamas coordinated several attacks at the border site," it continued.
Americans were told to shelter in place as the attacks occurred on Saturday and throughout the weekend, with Israel declaring the nation was at war. The attack occurred 50 years after the Yom Kippur War in Israel in 1973.
Reservists have been called up in Israel, with troops stationed throughout locations nationwide, including the northern border where there are concerns of coordinated attacks by Hezbollah terrorists from Lebanon. In addition to the reported deaths, over 1,000 injuries have been reported and many in the nation are in bomb shelters as the attacks take place.
Israel is quick in its response but the initial damage is done, killing hundreds of people, including Americans, in a tragic loss of life at the hands of terrorists. The response of the Biden administration will be interesting to watch as Israel seeks to defend its people from the massive terrorist attacks.
