Arizona Rep. Gov. Doug Ducey called on Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to resign over the border crisis that has impacted his state’s border over the past year.
Secretary Mayorkas needs to resign NOW — and if he doesn’t, congress needs to dig in. 1/https://t.co/K06apXjrNH

The governor added a series of tweets following a visit by Mayorkas to express his concerns.
“I’m calling on Mayorkas to step down and step aside. He has failed Americans in his role as Homeland Security Secretary — he even admitted the border is the worst it’s been in over 20 years,” he said.
Calls are growing for congress to act & impeach him. People are tired of waiting for Biden to do the right thing. Mayorkas needs to be held accountable for his failure to protect our border, respect & administer the rule of law, & stand up to the radicals in the White House. 4/4

Mayorkas also failed to give interviews to the public during his recent visit. Instead, recent leaked audio from his meeting with Border Patrol guards revealed him saying the border was the worst it had been in 20 years.
The governor’s strong words represent many in Arizona and beyond who see the need for some accountability for the two million illegal border crossers since Biden has been in office.
The resignation may not happen for now, but the pressure will continue as the border crisis grows during Biden’s second year.
