AOC says she doesn't want to be president

New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said in a new interview that she doesn't want to be president.

Ocasio-Cortez shared her thoughts in a GQ interview released this week.

"Sometimes little girls will say, 'Oh, I want you to be president,' or things like that," she said.

"It's very difficult for me to talk about because it provokes a lot of inner conflict in that I never want to tell a little girl what she can't do. And I don't want to tell young people what is not possible. I've never been in the business of doing that," she added.

The wide-ranging interview offered multiple controversial statements that have led to widespread criticisms online. The congresswoman even said she wasn't sure if she would be alive in September, adding to the drama.

The interview takes an intentionally provocative approach, but conservatives hope she's at least serious about not trying to become president.
