AOC claims Republicans who asked for pardons should be ‘expelled’ from Congress

New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she believes Republicans who sought pardons from former President Donald Trump should be expelled from Congress.

Ocasio-Cortez shared the comments during an interview on CBS’ “The Late Show.”

“In testimony provided to the House Select Committee investigating the riot, Reps. Mo Brooks (R-AL), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Louie Gohmert (R-TX) and Scott Perry (R-PA) were all named as having asked Trump for pardons,” Breitbart News reported.

“Ocasio-Cortez argued that those members of Congress ‘were willing to commit crimes in order to illegally seize power.’ She added they needed to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.'”

Ocasio-Cortez has been among the most vocal lawmakers calling for the removal of GOP members with any connection to the Jan. 6 riots.

The same leader, however, has done little to investigate the many attacks on pro-life centers and churches attacked following the Supreme Court’s leak regarding the overturn of Roe v. Wade or since the court’s ruling.
