Anonymous House Dem decries new impeachment push

House Democrats, led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), are currently on the warpath in a rushed attempt to impeach President Donald Trump for a second time over his alleged involvement in inciting riots that led to a deadly siege on the U.S. Capitol last week.

According to Breitbart, behind the scenes, not all Democrats are happy about the knee-jerk impeachment reaction to the events that unfolded last week, with one anonymous House Democrat going as far as suggesting that party members are “imbeciles” for setting a very bad precedent.

The unidentified House Democrat explained that impeaching Trump again will only cause Republicans to take similar actions in the future against President-elect Joe Biden, especially given the strong chance of the GOP taking back the House in 2022.

“Republicans will figure this out. … It will be their favorite new tool. We’re such imbeciles. We never think about the consequences. It’s going to be like: Game on. Let’s impeach [Biden] 12 times in a week,” the anonymous, anti-impeachment Democrat reportedly said.

In a more public fashion, a number of members of the bipartisan group known as the Problems Solvers Caucus have come out in an attempt to calm tensions and suggested that instead of impeachment, Trump should be censured instead.

Of course, that realistic and reasonable approach was immediately shot down by rabid, anti-Trump House Democrats who are currently moving Heaven and Earth in order to expedite an impeachment trial in the president’s few remaining days in office.

“In protecting our Constitution and our Democracy, we will act with urgency, because this President represents an imminent threat to both,” Pelosi said in a recent letter to her colleagues in the lower chamber.

According to Reuters, if on Wednesday a simple majority of the House of Representatives votes in favor of bringing articles of impeachment against the president, the process will be sent to the Senate for a full trial, where two-thirds of the upper chamber will be required to agree to remove Trump.
