There’s a mess at the U.S.-Mexico border that could turn dangerous if history repeats itself. Failure to ensure this won’t happen has led to calls for Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ resignation.
After Mayorkas chastised a Congresswomen who asked about what the secretary would do to prevent violent crimes committed by illegal aliens, Angel Families have united to call for him to resign, Breitbart reported. These are families united by the tragedy of having a loved one killed by an illegal immigrant.
Florida Rep. Kat Cammack asked Mayorkas about what he would do to prevent cases like that of Amber Scott, the 19-year-old woman who was abducted at knifepoint by 25-year-old illegal immigrant Pedro Martinez in 2006. “How many more Ambers have to be kidnapped across America before you will take action?” the GOP Congresswoman asked.
“Congresswoman, I find that question to be extraordinarily disrespectful,” Mayorkas shot back, dodging the question and going after Commack. “Disrespectful not only to me, but disrespectful to the men and women of Homeland Security and to all the frontline personnel throughout this country who dedicate themselves to the safety and security of the American people.”
In response, Don Rosenberg and Maureen Maloney teamed up with Victims of Illegal Alien Crime in a joint letter calling for the secretary’s resignation. An illegal immigrant killed Rosenberg’s 25-year-old son Drew Rosenberg, and Maloney lost her 23-year-old son Matthew Denice after he was struck by an illegal alien who was unlicensed and driving drunk.
“Congresswoman Cammack was not referring to the men and women of DHS, she was referencing you, President Biden, and all of the Democrats who have ignored our laws and protected illegal aliens even after they had committed additional crimes for decades,” they wrote. “Secretary Mayorkas, many of the men and women of the Department of Homeland Security risk their lives every day doing their jobs. You risk the American people’s lives every day by not doing yours,” their correspondence said.
“You owe Congresswoman Cammack an apology,” the letter urged. “You owe the American people your resignation.” Commack had a right to question Mayorkas since Florida is one of the three states that have filed suit against the feds because of the influx in crime due to the lax illegal immigration stance.
The Biden administration has hamstrung immigration enforcement and is putting Americans at risk. Mayorkas’ non-answer was disrespectful but indicative of the way the administration treats Americans’ concerns about the flood of illegal immigrants into the country — they simply don’t care.
