Amid recall effort, Los Angeles DA Gascon continues to push the radical left’s agenda

George Gascon, the district attorney of Los Angeles, California, doesn’t appear to be letting the recall effort he is facing stop him from espousing his far-left ideology.

Fox News reports that Gascon just praised California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) for the several pieces of gun control legislation that he has signed into law.

The bills include Assembly Bills 1842, 2156, 2239, and Senate Bill 915. Fox reports that the bills, among other things:

[limit] the number of guns a person can manufacture without a license, [forbid] guns or gun parts from being sold on state property, [forbid] those convicted of child or elder abuse from buying a gun for ten years, and [bar] gun sellers from charging certain fees if a buyer backs out before the end of the waiting period.”

In addition to these four gun control bills, Newsom also signed another one that, according to a separate report from Fox, would “allow private citizens to sue anyone who manufactures, sells, transports or distributes illegal ‘assault weapons and ghost guns.'”

Gascon posted a laudatory Twitter thread on Friday. “Thank you, @cagovernor Newsom, for signing several important bills to protect Californians from #gunviolence including four bills supported by my office,” Gascon wrote.

In subsequent tweets, Gascon detailed the individual bills, including what he believes the bills will accomplish. He wrote, “these sensible measures will help stop this deadly #epidemic.”

Twitter users, though, responded by hammering Gascon for the soft-on-crime approach that he has taken as Los Angeles’s district attorney.

“Why don’t you try assisting crime victims by actually affectively [sic] prosecuting the cases where they have been victimized?” one user wrote. “Your transparent pro-defendant policies are not fooling anyone! Do your d–n job for a change!”

Gascon is facing a recall effort. Organizers believe that they have enough signatures to get the effort on the ballot this November.
