Adam Schiff caught doctoring text messages between Senator Jim Jordan and Trump ally Mark Meadows

The left is trying hard to pin the incursion at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 on former President Donald Trump and the Republicans. They’ll stop at nothing to do get it done, even if it means fudging evidence.

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) presented a doctored text message as evidence during the United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack hearings, Breitbart reported. A portion of the text was omitted and punctuation was added to change its meaning to suit the Democrats’ narrative.

The text message was presented as a screenshot of a communication from Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) to Meadows the night before the incident. Schiff’s version read, “On January 6, 2021, Vice President Mike Pence, as President of the Senate, should call out all electoral votes that he believes are unconstitutional as no electoral votes at all.”

However, the text was actually a forward from former Department of Defense Inspector General Joseph Schmitz. It outlined the legal rationale for preventing former Vice President Mike Pence from certifying the Electoral College votes as scheduled that day.

Instead of ending with a period, the message continued to explain this process was “in accordance with guidance from founding father Alexander Hamilton and judicial precedence,” the full message said.”Β  ‘No legislative act,’ wrote Alexander Hamilton in Federalist No. 78, ‘contrary to the Constitution, can be valid,” the Schmitz’s message went on.

“The court in Hubbard v. Lowe reinforced this truth: ‘That an unconstitutional statute is not a law at all is a proposition no longer open to discussion.’ 226 F. 135, 137 (SDNY 1915), appeal dismissed, 242 U.S. 654 (1916).” This context makes it clear it wasn’t a call to action but rather an explanation for how they could proceed.

The Select Committee claimed this was all an “error” on its part when preparing evidence. “In the graphic, the period at the end of that sentence was added inadvertently,” a spokesman told Breitbart. “The Select Committee is responsible for and regrets the error.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Schiff, who serves as chairman for the House Intelligence Committee, has been at the center of a controversy over doctored evidence. The Democrats must be getting desperate if Schiff is out there doing this again.
