Actor Jonathan Majors reportedly arrested for assaulting a woman

Saturday evening, Jonathan Majors was detained in New York City after police responded to an alleged domestic violence incident, according to a report by The Daily Wire.

“A preliminary investigation determined that a 33-year-old male was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old female,” the New York City Police Department said in a statement.

“The victim informed police she was assaulted. Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition.”

The actor was detained on allegations of strangling, assault, and harassment, according to the statement. The notification from Majors' team stated that, the actor has "committed no wrongdoing."

“We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up,” Majors’ team added.

Majors, whose career has risen meteorically in the past year, is presently starring in two films, "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and "Creed III."

In addition to the upcoming release of the independent film "Magazine Dreams" later this year, Majors is slated to play an increasingly significant part as the principal nemesis Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel film and television world.

TMZ stated that "unnamed law enforcement sources" told them that Majors and his girlfriend argued in a cab. Moreover, the news source said that Majors was freed from police custody.

Majors, 33, quickly become known as a talented one of Hollywood actor in recent years. He has a foundation in theater and a penchant for taking on complex characters, Majors has earned critical acclaim and admiration from both audiences and his peers in the entertainment industry.

Majors began his journey by attending the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts, followed by a successful completion of his MFA in acting from the renowned Yale School of Drama.

His passion for acting and stagecraft was evident from his early years, with Majors cutting his teeth in various theater productions.

The actor's big break came in 2017 when he landed a leading role in the indie film "The Last Black Man in San Francisco," which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. Majors' performance as Montgomery Allen garnered rave reviews, launching him into the spotlight.

Majors has since worked in several high-profile projects, such as the HBO series "Lovecraft Country," where he played the lead role of Atticus Freeman, and the critically acclaimed movie "Da 5 Bloods," directed by Spike Lee.

His compelling and powerful performances have earned him numerous accolades, including a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
