During a White House ceremony on Wednesday, the Biden administration honored a biological male with an award for gallantry in honor of International Women's Day.

Alba Rueda, a man who identifies as a woman, was honored alongside ten other women by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and First Lady Jill Biden with the International Women of Courage award, according to The Daily Wire.

Rueda is Argentina's Special Envoy for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity, as well as the country's first transgender politician in a top government post.

The award is intended for “extraordinary women from around the world who are working to build a brighter future for all,” according to the State Department.

Rueda, a transgender activist, has long advocated for progressive laws in Argentina, notably the Transgender Labor Quota Act, which mandates transgender persons to fill 1% of public sector employment in the country.

Rueda also formed Argentina Trans Women and served as Argentina's undersecretary for diversity policy in the Ministry of Women, Gender, and Diversity.

The ambassador has also advocated for the National Women's Conference to be renamed the “Plurinational Conference of Women and Lesbian, Cross-Dresser, Transgender, Bisexual, Intersex, and Non-Binary Persons.”

Rueda intends to  “establish an LGBTQI+ foreign policy agenda and mainstream it into the various negotiation fora, including into multilateral fora and bilateral relations as well as represent the Global South.” according to the State Department.

Ethiopian journalist Meaza Mohammed, Jordan-based human rights campaigner Hadeel Abdel Aziz, and civil society leader Bakhytzhan Toregozhina were among the other honorees.

"Awardees will participate in an in-person International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) exchange to connect with American counterparts in cities across the United States and strengthen their global networks of women leaders," the State Department added.

The award, first given in 2007, is part of the White House's celebration of International Women's Day, a holiday started by socialists in the early twentieth century.

Communist countries like the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China were among the first to recognize the holiday, according to publically available information.

In April 2022, the Biden administration issued a report outlining its dedication to "inclusive democracy" and attempts to promote transgenderism globally, seeming to have lost control of the progressive agenda within his administration.

These include Peace Corps events in Cambodia and Tonga featuring transgender activists from the respective nations concentrating on education. For example, for Peace Keepers spreading awareness about Menstrual Hygiene Day, the phrasing was adjusted in an instructional message to include “women, girls, and others who menstruate.
