A new Consult poll released on Monday morning shows that presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden is fast losing the support of his voter base.
Voter enthusiasm for Biden was already low when former staffer Tara Reade came forward in late March to accuse Biden of sexual assaulting her in 1993.
Now, according to the poll, “26% say that the Democratic Party should move to replace Biden” after watching his bumbling response to the accusations on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Sunday.
The poll found that younger voters were also more likely to want Biden to be replaced as well, “with 40 percent of voters under 45 agreeing that he should be replaced by another candidate and just 15 percent of older voters saying the same.”
The mainstream media refused to even address Reade’s allegation until several weeks after she came forward detailing the experience on March 24. Even then, though Democrats have made it clear that all women accusing Republicans must be believed without question, Biden is entitled to due process.
Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez dismissed Reade’s accusations on Sunday — even though the evidence is mounting that her allegations are credible — saying that “Barack Obama trusted Joe Biden. I trust Joe Biden. And those investigations have been done.”
“This is like the Hillary emails, because there was nothing there,” he concluded.
